The world today is facing unprecedented challenges. In the search for solutions, the international community has, in recent years, been looking increasingly to China. The response from the Chinese president has been positive. “We live in an age rife with challenges. But it is also an age full of hope,” Xi Jinping has said. As practical solutions to the world's problems, he has proposed initiatives concerning global development and security, as well as the Belt and Road Initiative. All of these embody China's commitment to boosting global development by promoting, on a worldwide scale, unity and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, green development, and peaceful coexistence among civilizations.
