People continue to commit crimes even after being punished for it. Why do you think this happens? How can crime be stopped?
Undoubtedly, in civic society, whenever any crime is recognised and proven with evidence, the offender gets sentenced according to his delinquency level. However, there are dreadful sights where people start acting as wrongdoers soon after being prosecuted. In this essay, I will examine the reasons for these unaccepted deeds and the possible solutions.
Generally speaking, there are multiple reasons for this trend of a convicted person. First, perhaps, the main reason is acceptability in society. For example, he faces scorning and mental troubles when he will mix with his family, peers, and community. This behaviour will compel him to stay alone and eventually, this alienation will trigger him to do wrong deeds. Additionally, the lack of government-level policy contributes to the same act because there is no opportunity to have earnings to lead a respectable life in the community for an ex-felon. A good illustration of this situation could be the recent research paper published in Pakistan. The author says that almost 70% of convicted people turn back to the same offences because they perceive there is no wreath for them except poverty and loath.
To combat this trend, first support has to come from the family and peers. They have to offer compassion and counselling towards a better life. The more they will sympathise, the greater possibility for the convicted guy to have a respectable livelihood. For example, the parents can take him to outdoor activities like sports or engage him in training to have a suitable job to gain a fantastic family life which eventually compels him to forget his disrespectful life. The next contribution towards deterring this action could come from the appropriate government authority who should take responsibility for these special thongs through various training and occupations as suitable for individuals. For example, during the punishment period, as per individuals’ attitude, they could be engaged in various electronics, handicrafts, and mechanical works; later on, can be placed as they trained. This not only refrains them from the tantrums but also motivates them to show gratitude to the system and as a whole to the country.
In conclusion, I would like to say that, though there are challenges still with proper planning and guidance they will not be a liability for the country but rather could be an asset in the long run. Therefore, the more rehabilitation can manage for the punished people, the reduction of crimes will be greater which eventually upgrade the status of the whole country as a law-abiding people.
